Restaurant · Sheffield
Tucked away near the Peak District, this is the kind of place families stumble on after a farm visit or a walk and then keep coming back to — one parent drove an hour and called it worth every mile. There's a lot of outdoor seating, some of it covered, with blankets handed out on cold days, so a pram and a restless toddler aren't a problem. The food punches well above a cafe: breakfast burritos, mushroom soup, chips people rave about, and cake, all beautifully presented with portions generous enough that the prices stop looking steep. Staff are kind, attentive and good with allergens, and the cafe employs people who might not get a chance elsewhere. Two honest snags: the car park is small (road parking nearby), and there's no quiet corner when it's busy.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
