Tucked into Roundhill, this small community café has had a fresh refurb and, crucially for anyone arriving with children, a proper play area — one family's daughter was happily occupied there with a babyccino and marshmallows while the grown-ups finished their coffee. Buggy access, high chairs and a kids' menu are all in place, plus outdoor seating for when the inside fills up. The food punches well above a café's weight: enormous beef and cheese toasties, specialty bagels, generously filled bacon and egg baps on griddled bread, and light, excellent cakes. Vegan options too. Service is quick, which matters when patience is running short, and the family who run it get consistently warm mentions. Worth knowing: it's a compact space, so a busy lunchtime feels snug, and one visitor felt £5.50 for a bacon bap was steep for the amount of bacon.
