A fully vegetarian spot in Wells with several different areas to sit, including a quiet, secluded courtyard out the back — genuinely useful when a toddler needs air or a change of scene. Portions are generous and the food is hearty and seasonal: the lasagne with salad comes up again and again, the quiches are excellent, and the counter display means children can see what they're getting before committing, which cuts a lot of negotiation. Staff are warm and accommodating, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, and buggy access is fine. It's a little tucked away, so allow time to find it, and popular dishes do occasionally sell out later in the day. Mid-afternoon is quietest — one visitor had the place almost to themselves at half two. Cakes and slices travel home well.
