Old-world charm in the middle of Bourne, and the sort of café where a pram isn't a problem and nobody minds a bit of noise from the table in the corner. High chairs are there, there's a kids' menu, vegan options, and free parking, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Breakfasts and the afternoon tea get the warmest praise — a good spread of sandwiches, a proper selection of cakes, and tea poured from bone china — while the burgers come with fresh salad and properly cooked chips. Dogs get a bowl of water and a bit of sausage. Two honest caveats: it's on the pricey side, and everything is cooked fresh in a small, very busy kitchen, so weekends fill up and food takes its time. Book ahead if you can. One regular says they've "never had a bad experience here."
