Behind The Wall

Restaurant · Falkirk
Small, cosy and often full at breakfast — worth knowing before you arrive with a pram, though buggy access is fine and there are high chairs and a few outdoor tables when it's busy inside. The staff move quickly and are warm with everyone, which matters when a toddler has decided they're hungry now. Food is the draw: build-your-own breakfasts with poached eggs and mushrooms, tattie scones, the big Scottish fry-up, a veggie version, and toasties (the brie and cranberry, the steak) that families come back for. Lentil soup and the pastrami sandwich are quietly excellent, and the chai latte gets its own fan club. Prices are genuinely low. Little handwritten signs around the room will make your kids laugh. One parent calls it "a total gem" — though the loos have had the odd off day.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
