Tucked into an old converted barn just outside Plymouth, this is a proper greasy-spoon breakfast stop that happens to have farm animals wandering about outside — which buys parents a good twenty minutes of peace. Children can buy bags of feed, chickens will follow them around, and there's a small indoor play area for little ones. Buggies get in fine, there are high chairs and a kids' menu, outdoor seating and free parking. The fry-ups are the draw — the Shire breakfast and the boar stack burger come up again and again — alongside homemade cakes, scones with jam and cream, and £1 hot drink refills. Prices are low and portions generous. Food can be slow when they're busy, and a booked table isn't always guaranteed on arrival, so allow time. Staff are warm with children and dogs alike.
