Tucked down a narrow track outside Durley, this one takes a bit of finding — but there's a car park, and inside it's roomier than the lane suggests, with a comfy bar and a more spacious dining room beyond. The garden is the real draw for families: a proper play area, plenty of space for children and dogs, and a quiet countryside feel despite Hedge End and Botley being minutes away. The kitchen turns out genuinely good food — pork chops, salmon, the prawn thermidor and freshly cooked chips all get singled out — at prices parents describe as very reasonable. Local ales from Flower Pots too. Worth booking for a table at busy times; the interior is old-world and a touch tired in places, and it can feel chilly. Staff are generally attentive, though the welcome can vary.
