Pub · Bristol
Right in the thick of King Street, this historic Bristol pub is genuinely cosy midweek — which is when you'll want to bring children, because come Friday and Saturday the whole street fills up and it gets loud. The Sunday roast is the reason to make the trip: generous plates, succulent meat, crispy potatoes, cauliflower cheese and gravy that people rhapsodise about, and one of the better value roasts in the city. One parent found the portion left them hungry a few hours later, so it's worth knowing. Staff are friendly and had a high chair ready when asked ahead. There's a kids' menu, buggy access and outdoor seating for spilling out on a warm day. Nachos are a hit-and-miss sharer. Occasional game nights need registering in advance — no walk-ins.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
