Little Inn Cafe
A budget-friendly Edinburgh café with outdoor seating — an easy, low-key stop for a coffee and a bite with the kids.

Pub · Edinburgh
Right in the thick of the Royal Mile, this is one of those old Edinburgh pubs where the low light, dark wood and beams do half the work — history you can feel the moment you step in. It's small and gets properly busy, so come early if you want a seat, especially at weekends, and know that live folk music kicks off most evenings and it turns lively and loud. Better as an afternoon stop before the castle: high chairs and a kids' menu are there, the cask ale and pies go down well, and there are vegetarian options. Food choice is narrow, though — a handful of pies and small bites rather than a full menu — and service can be slow when it's packed. The bar staff are warm and genuinely happy to chat. One visitor calls it "a gem of a place".
