The Bay Tree Cafe
Busy, much-loved Syston café with all-day breakfast, a kids' menu and extraordinary cakes — though the only toilet is upstairs.

Cafés · Leicester
Tucked just off the main road in Syston, this little café stays surprisingly peaceful — the kind of place where a Saturday breakfast doesn't dissolve into chaos. Food arrives fast and hot, which matters when someone at the table is past waiting, and the staff are warm and good-humoured with families. Breakfasts are the draw: the full English is cooked fresh and properly filling, the Duck & Willow Feast is enormous, and one parent went misty over the new waffles. Iced lattes and caramel hot chocolate are worth ordering too. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access and outdoor seating, plus free parking a two-minute walk away. The toilets are kept clean and the tables cared for. It's dog-friendly as well, so expect a few furry distractions. Prices are genuinely reasonable.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
