Pub · Liverpool
A proper Liverpool local that happens to work well with children in tow — clean, bright and roomy, with plenty of space to park a pram and outdoor seating when the weather plays fair. There's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the team are warm and unhurried, happy to steer you towards something. Portions are the headline: the Sunday roast comes with crispy potatoes and every trimming going, the fish is enormous, and there's scouse with beetroot if you fancy something properly local. Two mains with a bottle of wine deals make it good value for ££. It gets busy and lively at peak times, so if you want a quiet meal where you can hear each other, go early or late — though note the kitchen has been known to close at 9pm. Dogs welcome too, with their own menu.
