Love, Peace and Coffee
A warmly rated Edinburgh café with vegan options, easy for a relaxed family stop over coffee and a bite.

Pub · Edinburgh
Behind an unassuming frontage sits one of Edinburgh's odder, warmer rooms — hats, gloves and lampshades nailed to the ceiling, everything salvaged and reassembled, which will keep small children staring happily for a good ten minutes. The kitchen is entirely vegan and even committed meat-eaters come away startled: the battered "fish", the pizza crunch, the chips and onion rings all get raved about, and prices stay sensible. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, the staff are patient and friendly, and dogs are welcome so expect a few pups wandering past your table. One parent calls the food "absolutely amazing". Worth knowing: it's lively rather than calm, the bar can be slow when it's busy, and evenings bring music jams and drag bingo — so lunch or an early tea is the easier family shout.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
