The team is warm without being fussy: when a teenager wouldn't touch the set menu, a bowl of chips and cheese appeared without a murmur. Food is a genuine step up — homemade steak pie, macaroni, fish and chips and soup all come in for praise, and there are vegan options. Small snags: it's a working wedding venue, so book ahead, and service can occasionally need a nudge (cutlery went missing once or twice). Worth the trip for a proper meal with a view.
