A small place right in the centre of Kendal, and the thing that sets it apart is how seriously they take gluten free — nearly all of the menu is, and the team clearly know their stuff on cross-contamination. One family with two coeliac children called it their first meal out since diagnosis, and said staff were reassuring the whole way through. The homemade pies and the quiche get the most praise, portions are big, prices are gentle, and the gluten free cakes are worth taking a box home. There's a children's menu, high chairs and buggy access, and outdoor tables for when you'd rather not squeeze a pram inside — it is genuinely little, so the outside seating earns its keep.
