A splendid 1810 building in the middle of Bristol, all high ceilings and space to park a pram without apologising to anyone — which is half the battle with a toddler in tow. Breakfast is the draw, and it's cheap: two eggs benedict and two coffees came to under £20, and there's a kids' menu, high chairs and the app so you can order without leaving a fidgety child at the table. Food arrives fast most of the time, though one family found a breakfast sent back cold, so it's not flawless. It gets very busy and you may wait for a table at weekends — worth it, regulars reckon. Toilets are upstairs, which is worth knowing before you commit. Staff come in for consistent praise: warm, patient, welcoming with families.
