The Haw Bridge Inn
An old wood-beamed Gloucester pub with hearty food, real ales, and outdoor seating for warmer days with the family.

Restaurants · Gloucester
A proper country pub a short drive out of Gloucester, with free parking, a sunny garden and space to get a buggy in — one family arrived on a Friday afternoon with a baby and were looked after throughout, helped by the fact that quieter afternoons here feel genuinely relaxed. The hosts are the draw as much as the food: chatty, quick with recommendations, and happy to plate a roast without meat for a child who won't eat pork or beef. Portions are enormous, and leftovers get boxed up without fuss. The slow-cooked beef brisket comes up again and again, alongside the pork belly, the haddock and chips and a Sunday roast with homemade stuffings. Two snags: book ahead, especially for Sunday lunch, and a family meal with drinks and puddings can top £100.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
