Relaxed Newcastle pub with outdoor seating, brews and cask ciders on tap, plus vegan options and a well-rated, easygoing feel.

Pub · Newcastle upon Tyne
Tucked into Ouseburn, this is a proper old-school pub that happens to double as a live music room — which makes for an unusual family lunch spot. Downstairs is roomy enough for a buggy, with outside seating that's lovely on a sunny day and free, easy parking right there. The kitchen turns out genuinely good food: burgers people come back for, Greek flatbreads, lamb and mint, and regularly changing specials, all at fair prices. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and there's a kids' menu and high chairs. Two honest caveats — the layout is a bit maze-like once you wander towards the second room and its staircase, and on gig nights it gets packed and noisy, with people standing on the stairs. Come at lunchtime or early evening and it's a warm, easygoing pub; one visitor called the atmosphere "brilliant".
