Coffee Shops · Reading
Tucked inside a bouldering gym, this is a café that happens to have a climbing wall attached — and it works surprisingly well with kids. The space is genuinely roomy even when busy, so a pram isn't a problem, and there's a pool table and table tennis if nobody's climbing. Sourdough pizza is made in house and gets the loudest praise, along with cheese toasties, wraps, cakes and a solid vegan selection; the coffee-and-cake deal comes in well under chain prices. Staff are consistently warm, high chairs and a kids' menu are sorted, and parking is free. Worth knowing: the food range isn't huge, and the kitchen can occasionally be caught out at quiet moments — one parent waited far longer than quoted, though the team refunded without being asked.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
