Set beside a polo field on the edge of Rugby, this is a spot where the view does a lot of the heavy lifting — big open green, outdoor seating, free parking and level buggy access, so getting in with a pram is no drama. Inside it's warm and roomy, with a log burner going in colder months and high chairs and a kids' menu available. The kitchen shines on Sunday lunch and steak, and the hot chocolate has genuine fans. Be aware, though: service can be patchy when it fills up — drinks sometimes need fetching from the bar yourself, and food can be slow, which is worth knowing if you've got a hungry toddler. Live music nights get loud. Go midweek or early, when one visitor found "nothing was too much trouble" from the team.
