Cafés · Chester
Set on the Manor Wood site just outside Chester, this is a proper lunch stop rather than a quick coffee counter — homemade sandwiches, French toast with bacon, and a lunchtime menu that people come back for. The toys are the real find: one family got fifteen minutes and a second coffee in peace while the children played, which is about as good as it gets. High chairs, buggy access, outdoor seating for ice creams in summer, and free parking. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is warm. Two honest notes: children's food isn't a printed menu, so ask exactly what's in the sausages and burgers before ordering, and service can be hit and miss — mostly friendly and welcoming, occasionally clumsy when something goes wrong. They also do a Santa breakfast at Christmas that families rate highly.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
