Cafés · Skipton
Set out above the fields near Bolton Abbey, this barn conversion trades on a view that genuinely stops people in the doorway — and there are tables outside to make the most of it. Inside is colourful and quirky, with high chairs, room to get a pram in, and a stash of games to keep children busy while you finish your coffee. The brownies are the draw (double chocolate, caramel fudge, orange, cherry — warm them as instructed), though the cooked breakfast is the sort of plate that defeats grown adults, so consider sharing one. There's a kids' menu, vegan and veggie options, local ingredients, and free parking. Service is quick and the team are warm with families. It gets lively and properly full at weekends, and one parent found it after 10km on foot — the brownie milkshake, apparently, was exactly what was needed.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
