Mama’s & Leonies
Homely, buzzy Italian near the Crucible where food arrives fast, portions are generous, and birthdays get a candle — book ahead.

Pub · Sheffield
A Sam Smith's pub with a rule that surprises most first-timers: no phones, no laptops, and no swearing. For families that cuts both ways — you can't hand a child a screen to keep them going, but the room is full of actual conversation rather than silence and scrolling. It's dark, cosy and small-scale, with proper nooks and a warm old-boozer feel; one visitor calls it "beautiful cozy", though a table with a pram won't slot in easily. Prices are genuinely cheap, there's a kids' menu and high chairs, and the beer — the OBB and the stout both get singled out — is the draw for grown-ups. Staff enforce the rules firmly and some people bristle at that, so go knowing what you're walking into. Better for a quiet early drink with older children than a lively family lunch.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
