Pizzeria Villaggio
A well-loved Cardiff Italian with a real specials board, kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — book ahead for evenings.

Restaurant · Cardiff
Tucked in the village and busy with regulars, this is the kind of place where a pram fits through the door and nobody rushes you. The front section is a heated conservatory-style space with fairy lights — warm even on a cold morning, and roomier than the main room if you've got a buggy. Breakfast and brunch come out hot and fast, the omelettes are generous, and the yoghurt, fruit and granola is a genuinely good children's option; there's a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating too. The sea bass salad and the Sunday roast get the most love, and portions justify the ££. Vegan choices exist — the nut roast is well liked — but they're limited, so check ahead if that matters. One honest snag: the toilets are awkward and dated, which is worth knowing with a toddler in tow.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
