The food is proper cooking rather than chain fare — chicken and ham pie with mash, seafood tagliatelle, fish and chips, a chocolate brownie big enough to share — and portions are generous. It is pricey (the chowder alone runs near £25), and one family found flies a nuisance outside near the coffee machine. Outdoor seating in good weather. Evenings stay quiet enough for conversation.
