A well-loved garden centre in a historic landscaped setting near Rotherham, with plenty of room for families to wander and browse.

Restaurants · Rotherham
Tucked alongside a garden centre, this is the kind of place where you can pair lunch with a wander round the gardens — handy when small people need to run off steam before or after. The room is beautiful and the atmosphere calm and quiet rather than clattery, and food arrives quickly, which matters when someone's patience is wearing thin. Staff are consistently kind and unhurried, even at busy times. Breakfasts get the most praise (the gamekeeper's breakfast with black pudding especially), along with the halloumi sandwich with chunky fries, roast beef with a proper Yorkshire pudding, and the cakes and mocha. Portions are generous and they'll box up what you can't finish. It isn't cheap, and one granola bowl arrived oddly proportioned, but there's a kids' menu, high chairs, buggy access, outdoor seating and free parking.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
