Bootleggers Bar & Grill
A family-friendly Elgin grill with a kids' menu, high chairs, and outdoor seating — easy and relaxed with children in tow.

Bistro · Elgin
Right on the Moray coast, this is a small bistro where the fish genuinely comes off the boats nearby — the Peterhead haddock and chips gets rave notices for its seasoned crust, and the mussels, hake and seafood specials are worth ordering. Portions are generous and the cooking is careful, though pricing can be a bit uneven across the menu. Pram and wheelchair access is fine and there's easy unrestricted on-street parking right outside, plus high chairs, a kids' menu and outdoor seating. The interior is shabby chic and comfy, the atmosphere lively rather than hushed, and the staff are quick, warm and happy to work around dietary needs. It's small, so book ahead — walk-ins sometimes get lucky, but weekends fill. One family called it a "fantastic little find". Good coffee and cakes too.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
