The set menu — three courses for £22.95 — gets the loudest praise, with generous Sunday roasts and a ploughman's board that families rate. Staff stay friendly and attentive even when it's heaving. Two honest snags: it's not cheap otherwise, and the menu is deliberately small, so check it online if you have a fussy eater. Book for Sundays. Dogs are welcome too.
