The riverside setting does a lot of work: a huge garden with views out over the water and an old Soviet submarine moored up, which buys you a good twenty minutes of distraction. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and free parking are all sorted, and the staff stay friendly even when the queue reaches the door. It does get very busy at weekends, so book — one family who chanced it without a reservation were squeezed in, but only just. Vegan options available, music kept low enough to talk over, and dogs are made a fuss of too.
