There's no kitchen here at the moment, so plan around that first — weekends usually bring a food van onto the site (one at a time), and the team will let you order a takeaway in, though it's worth ringing ahead rather than turning up hungry with hungry children. What makes it work for families is the space: a genuinely big beer garden with play equipment, plenty of room indoors in the conservatory extension when it's cold, and easy off-street parking with no squeezing a pram through a narrow door. The staff are consistently kind and quick, and high chairs and a kids' menu are on hand. One regular calls the garden "a very good size and great for kids". Good range of beers and ciders on tap. Disabled access is poor, and the old website still mentions a restaurant that's gone.
