The Coffee Yard
A relaxed Cardiff coffee shop with top early reviews — an easy spot for a drink and a bite with the kids.

Restaurant · Cardiff
A traditional Cardiff pub that suits a family Friday just as well as a pint with mates — warm, festive around Christmas, and rarely so loud you can't talk across the table. Football's usually on the screens but the volume stays low. There's step-free access from the main road entrance, high chairs, a kids' menu, and clean toilets just past the bar, plus free parking for around twenty cars, which spares you the city-centre hunt. Ordering happens by app from a QR code at your table, handy when nobody can be spared to queue. The pies, burgers, gammon and mash all get praise, as does the Sunday roast since the menu was reworked, and there's a genuinely good vegan burger. Not everything lands — some roasts and chicken dishes have disappointed — and drinks are dear at around £4 a pint of coke.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
