The Cavendish
Roomy Sheffield pub with heated outdoor seating, generous burgers and pizzas, kids' menu and high chairs — loud on match days.

Pub · Sheffield
A big traditional pub off West Street, roomy enough that a pram isn't a problem and there's plenty of space to spread out with children — plus outside seating when the weather plays along. High chairs and a kids' menu are there, prices are gentle, and the portions are genuinely large, so hungry kids won't leave wanting. Staff come in for real praise for being welcoming and patient, including with a family whose autistic son needed handling kindly at the door. Beer is well kept when it's on form, and it's the sort of place where you can actually hear each other talk — most of the time. The honest snag: it's a sports pub with big screens, and on match days or when a DJ is on, the volume goes right up. Come early afternoon and it's a different, calmer place.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
