High chairs and a kids' menu are there, plus outdoor seating when the weather plays along. The food is the draw: fish and chips people rate as stellar, a proper steak pie with pastry top and bottom, and Sunday roasts with gravy families still talk about. Portions are generous and everything comes with tartare, curry sauce and mushy peas. Two honest notes — around £18 a main feels steep for a short menu, and parking is street-only and limited, with a few steps at the door. Staff get consistent praise for being attentive without rushing you.
