Bulls Head Meriden Coventry
A characterful 1600s Coventry pub with a kids' menu, vegan options and outdoor seating — an easy, relaxed spot for families.

Restaurant · Coventry
Set deep in the Warwickshire countryside just outside Coventry, this is a proper destination lunch rather than a quick stop — there's little else nearby, so make an afternoon of it. Parking is free and easy, and the two floors are linked by a lift, so getting a pram up to the upstairs restaurant isn't a battle. That room has a huge window over the fields, air conditioning in summer, and enough space that a wriggly toddler won't feel on show. Downstairs there's a café, bakery and shop with plenty of pastries. Food is fresh and generous — the full English uses local produce, the fillet steak with proper crisp-fluffy chips gets rave mentions — and service is quick and attentive, which matters when someone's hungry. Outside there's a bar, pizza and farm animals to look at. It is pricier than a roadside café; most families think it's worth it.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
