An Indian gastropub sitting in the ££ bracket, this one works better for a family meal than the dim, sports-on-the-screens setup might suggest. There are low and high tables, so a high chair or a wriggly six-year-old both fit, and buggy access and outdoor seating help if you arrive mid-nap. Football plays in the background but doesn't take over, and staff will seat you in a quiet corner if you ask. Spicing is gentle rather than fierce — good news for younger palates — and the okra fries, the enormous onion bhajis, the chicken palak and the butter chicken all get raved about. Food arrives fast and hot, plates are cleared quickly, and there's a kids' menu plus vegan options. One snag: it isn't cheap, with around £40 a head reported.
