Don't be put off by the narrow frontage — walk past the bar and it opens out into a proper rustic, café-style room with plenty of space for a pram, which makes the whole thing far easier with a toddler in tow. Food comes out quickly and the staff are friendly and attentive, so there's less chance of a meltdown while you wait. The railway mutton on the bone and the lamb biryani draw the loudest praise, and the paneer with chilli sauce is worth ordering even if you think you know paneer. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, vegan options and free parking, plus it's bring-your-own-booze, which keeps the bill down. Portions are generous. It's popular enough that booking is sensible, especially at weekends.
