A village pub in Langennech that's been brought back to life, and the difference shows in how it handles a table with children at it. There's room to get a pram in, free parking out the back, high chairs and a kids' menu, and a garden that comes into its own in warmer months. Portions are generous and prices fair — the scampi and chips gets named again and again, as does the St David's chicken with its creamy leek sauce, and the steak comes from a local butcher. Staff check back between courses without hovering, and one parent described the team as "so lovely and accommodating". Worth booking at weekends, and popular dishes do occasionally sell out later in the evening.
