Cafés · Dorking
Tucked away in a little square, this is the kind of breakfast stop that rewards a detour — one family drove over from East Sussex and reckoned it well worth the trip. The full English draws the loudest praise (top-quality ingredients, excellent sausages and bread, fried bread that's crunchy rather than greasy, beans in a ramekin), and little milk bottles with the tea charm children no end. Burgers and thick, crispy-fluffy fries land well at lunch, and there's weekend pizza too. Food arrives fast — handy when someone's flagging — and the staff are unfailingly warm and unfussed by special requests. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access and free parking all help, and the outdoor tables in the square are lovely in the sun. Portions are reasonably priced, though occasional orders come out not quite as asked.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
