An old-school Bristol greasy spoon that's kept its standards, and one that works surprisingly well with children in tow. It's £ prices for genuinely good cooking — the breakfast omelette gets the most love, done properly rather than greasy, and the coffee is rich rather than burnt, which is rarer than it should be in a caff. There's a kids' menu, high chairs and buggy access, plus outdoor tables when the inside fills up. Food comes out fast, which matters when someone's hit the wall before 10am. If you don't want beige, there are avocado and spinach breakfasts too. Staff are warm with everyone — one regular calls them "top class people". Worth knowing: it's a small local place, so tables turn quickly and the white toast won't win any awards.
