Vernon Arms
A well-loved Norwich pub with cask ales, a pub menu and a garden — easygoing outdoor seating for a relaxed family meal.

Restaurant · Norwich
Set out in the countryside near Gunton, this old pub opens into a bright, modern dining room at the back with views over the fields — roomy enough that a pram isn't a problem, and there's a large car park plus an overflow one, free, so you're not circling with a tired toddler in the back. Staff are attentive and flexible; one couple were seated ahead of their booking time without fuss. Food comes out quickly, which matters when someone's melting down. The Sunday beef roast draws real praise — hot, generous, properly cooked — and the chocolate and tahini brownie with vanilla ice cream is worth saving room for. Kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating are all sorted, and dogs are welcome. Be aware: the tapas dishes divide opinion, some finding them pricey and underseasoned. Worth booking for a group.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
