English · Cleethorpes
An old-school fish and chip restaurant with an upstairs dining room, and the kind of place that copes cheerfully with a big family table — one group of sixteen with six small children were seated and fed quickly, with "nothing too much trouble". Portions are enormous: the small haddock defeats most adults, the medium is bigger again, and there's a jumbo nobody seems brave enough to order. The batter is light and crispy, the fish skin-on and flaky, and the homemade meat pie with proper meaty gravy is worth a look. Bread and butter plus a tea, coffee or squash come with the meal, which softens the bill. It's busier at lunchtime and pricier than a takeaway, though tables turn fast. High chairs, a kids' menu, buggy access, free parking and air conditioning in summer.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
