Busy Cardiff chai spot with kids' menu, high chairs and free parking — go for the karak chai and toasties.

A family-run spot on City Road that's easy to slot children into — there's a kids' menu, high chairs, free parking nearby (though City Road parking itself can be fiddly), and a few outdoor tables if you'd rather not have everyone indoors. Inside is cosy and clean but seating is limited when it's busy, so a pram may be tricky at peak times; food comes out quickly even then, which helps when someone's melting down. The gyros are the thing to order — filling enough that a plate often feeds two — plus fluffy-crisp fried potatoes, halloumi, whipped feta dip and homemade sauces. Portions are genuinely huge and the team hand over boxes without fuss. One snag: the chicken shish at £18.50 has struck some as poor value for a single skewer.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
