Something of a rarity in Edinburgh — an Indian and Nepalese kitchen that's genuinely relaxed about children rather than merely tolerant. Buggy access works, high chairs are there, and there's a small garden at the back that's the spot to angle for: outdoor tables, quieter than the main room, and easier if someone needs to wriggle. The staff are quick and unfailingly warm, and they'll ask if you're heading to the theatre and get your food out faster — worth mentioning if you're on a school-night clock. The butter chicken and the momos are what people come back for, alongside chicken biryani with cold minty raita and a very good mango lassi. Kids' menu, clearly marked vegetarian and vegan dishes, and a lunch set menu that's honestly good value. Two caveats: spicing is toned down for British palates, and portions are decent rather than enormous.
