Cafés · Wallingford
Set on a working farm just outside Wallingford, this is the kind of stop where the animals do half the entertaining for you — alpacas and llamas roam right up to the fence, and children tend to be transfixed. Inside it's cosy and full of character, with artwork on the walls that's for sale, and it's small enough that a busy Saturday feels tight, so aim for a quieter time if you're wheeling a pram in. The counter is stacked with cakes, pastries and buns; the beetroot chocolate and apple cakes get particular praise, along with genuinely good coffee, avocado toast and the chicken bap. Vegan and gluten-free options are handled properly. Staff are warm and quick, toilets are clean, parking is free, and dogs are welcome inside. It is a bit pricey, and the odd main can underwhelm.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
