Inside it's rustic County Antrim through and through, with a roomier upstairs loft space and deep bucket seats that suit a long, sprawling family meal. The team are laid back and chatty without hovering, food comes out quickly, and the room stays lively without drowning out conversation. Cooking is genuinely excellent: confit duck, a pork platter one visitor called "a stunning dish", and a dessert course where you pick two bite-size puddings — a small thing children love. There's a separate vegan menu, a kids' menu, high chairs and outdoor seating. Mains cost a little more than nearby places; starters and puddings are keenly priced.
