There's a kids' menu and high chairs, buggy access, and a garden with outdoor seating that's the easier bet with little ones, since inside is snug and seating fills up. Prices are fair for the city, the ales are good, and the staff have a reputation for being friendly and unhurried. Worth knowing before you go: live music runs regularly, especially Saturdays, and it can get properly loud — one visitor found it "deafening, booming across the whole room", which is a lot for small ears.
