Persian food on Cowley Road that turns out to be a genuinely easy family stop — big, generous portions, a kids' main that goes down well, and free parking, which matters when you're unloading a pram. The dining room is simply done in traditional style with a handful of tables outside among the greenery, so there's somewhere to sit when the weather holds. Staff are warm and patient, happy to talk you through the menu, and food arrives quickly even at a packed lunchtime. Grilled meat platters are the showstopper, but the vegetarian side is worth your attention — ash reshteh soup with fried onion and mint, falafel, ghormeh sabzi. There's a Persian breakfast too. Quality for the price is strong at ££, though the starters can be the weakest part of the meal.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
