A Sheffield curry house that's been going since 1979, and it shows in the easy, old-school welcome — classic Asian decor, staff happy to tell you the history, and enough room to get a buggy in without a fuss. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, vegan options and free parking, which takes most of the stress out of the evening. The keema naan comes stuffed with meat and gets talked about a lot, and the chicken chaat and onion bhaji starters are worth ordering; portions arrive piping hot. On a good night the food flows quickly, poppadoms and drinks landing almost straight away — though service can be patchy when they're busy, with long waits at the end of a meal. It's often quiet, which suits small children. Bring cash.
