A big, cheap-and-cheerful barn of a pub on the edge of Southampton, this one earns its keep on price rather than polish — think £10–£20 a head, with one regular reckoning it's "better value than a Toby Carvery, but don't expect Gordon Ramsay." Be aware the kitchen is inconsistent — hot and cold plates on the same order isn't unheard of — and it can get very busy at weekends, so book.
