Ma Egerton's Stage Door
A historic Liverpool pub with theatrical charm, celeb-themed pizzas, live events and outdoor seating for families.

Handy if you're heading to the Empire or straight off the train, and the free parking with a pre-theatre meal takes one worry off the evening — though the car park does fill up, so ring ahead rather than assume a space. Inside there's room for a buggy, high chairs, and a kids' menu, and the atmosphere is genuinely family-oriented rather than hushed. The sea bass gnocchi is the dish to order — creamy, cheesy, properly generous — and the kitchen is happy to adapt plates, leaving the fish off for a vegetarian at the table. Set menus are good value at two or three courses. The honest snag: service can be slow and dishes have arrived cold or muddled, so it's not the place when everyone's already hungry. Book, arrive early, and order sooner than you think you need to.

A little something creative for your next meal out. Filled with colouring, simple drawing prompts for cute animals, origami and conversation starters designed to bring more play, laughter and connection to the table. 3 free printable packs for toddlers, preschoolers and primary-aged children.
