The Driftwood Bar & Restaurant
A well-loved Holyhead restaurant with a kids' menu and high chairs, ideal for a relaxed family meal at a mid-range price.

Cafés · Holyhead
Right on the beach at Trearddur Bay, this is the kind of place families drive a long way for — one couple travels over 250 miles just to eat here. The nautical fit-out gives children plenty to look at, with boats hanging from the ceiling and beach finds tucked around the room, and there's a large public car park right next door so the buggy comes straight in. Food is a real step up from café standard: fish and chips, a soft lamb shank falling off the bone, crispy whitebait, a rich mushroom bourguignon. There's a kids' menu, high chairs, outdoor seating and an ice cream counter at the front doing cones and tubs to take away. Booking is strongly advised in season, and portions can occasionally miss the mark for the price.
